The Pre-Nursing Program is the brain-child of Mr. Samuel Green Jr., RN and Ms. Karleen Adam-Comrie, AP. It is a modification of the NYS LPN curriculum spread over grades 6 (introduction), grade 7 (intermediate) and grade 8 (advanced), culminating with the 8th graders attending a day-long 'Grand Rounds' clinical experience at the Queens Hospital Center visiting the ER, Labor & Delivery, Neonatal ICU, Various Imaging Departments and lectures given by participating mds. Student selection in 6th grade is based on math/reading performance. However, maturity, self-control, disciplined study habits and a serious attitude are premium admission criteria. The slideshow we made covers the various activities we, the pre-nursing students, do throughout the years.
