Matt Wade is a senior journalist at the Sydney Morning Herald. He has covered a series of major international news events including the Horn of Africa famine, the aftermath of Osama Bin Laden's death in Pakistan, the Mumbai terrorist attacks, the end of the Sri Lankan civil war, the 2010 Pakistan floods and the Delhi Commonwealth Games. He recently returned to Australia after a three-year posting as a foreign correspondent for the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age newspapers, based in New Delhi, India. Prior to his overseas posting Matt was the Herald's Economics Writer and Canberra-based Economics Correspondent. He has also reported on consumer affairs and financial markets. Before joining Fairfax, Matt worked in the aid and development field, including a two-year stint based with NGOs in India.
