The sixth installment of faux lectures on the Disappearance of Songs presented by the International Society of Song Archaeology. The set up: we're in a faux future in which Songs have gone extinct. A group of faux scientists present papers explaining why. Working from Song fossils, they recreate Song dinosaurs from musical DNA, Song artifacts from musical shards. Powerpoint meets music video. Amateur science meets performance art. Part eulogy, part parody, Song Archaeology is an ongoing meditation on the imperiled life forms of music composition, song writing, live vocal performance and the cultural ecosystems that once supported them.
